I have been working on a small side project for the last couple of months. Due to the current situation of the world, schools are closed, even in Sri Lanka many schools in Colombo are yet to open. And students rely on the internet to connect with teachers and learn their lessons.
So I was thinking of creating something that would help both teachers and students, a tool which will help the teachers to improve the way they teach over the internet.
So after thinking and searching for several days I thought about creating something where teachers can create lessons that are better story telling than PowerPoint, something simple and and something that is generate curiosity among students, which makes them explore and read more regarding a given topic.
With that in mind, I created Tuti, where teachers can create beautiful online presentations.
After creating a presentation, a teacher can easily share the presentation with other students, colleagues and friends simply by sharing the link, or sharing a code like most people do for Zoom calls.
I also added an online flashcard builder, where students and teachers make, save, share flashcards. Online flashcards are so much better than regular paper flashcards, because you can create rich content by including images, links and more.
I plan on adding more tools that will help teachers to deliver lessons to students over the internet, such as an online whiteboard, polls and more.
This is no way a startup, but something that I have done during my spare time. A side project, while I to my MSc in health informatics.
